Article overview
When you sell CS2 skins on Skinsauna, you can choose either a regular payment or an advanced payment. In both options it’s the same trade: you accept the trade offer sent by Skinsauna and receive money for your skins. The difference is simply at which point the payment is made.
The regular payment is made after the Steam trade hold ends, i.e. after 8 days. The advanced payment, on the other hand, is paid immediately once you accept the trade offer sent by Skinsauna. Because the advanced payment is made before the trade hold ends, it includes a 7 percent selling fee.
So in practice, the choice is this: do you wait 8 days and get a larger amount, or do you take the payment right away for a slightly smaller amount?
What is Steam trade hold?
Steam trade protection is Steam’s security mechanism that applies to Trade Protected items received in a trade. According to Steam, items remain protected for 7 days after the trade is confirmed. The purpose of this protection is to help in situations where an account has been hijacked or a trade has been made without the account owner’s permission.
CS2 skins can be valuable, so trade protection also affects skin sales. Even if a trade offer has been accepted, the items are still subject to a holding period that must be taken into account during the payment process. On Skinsauna, this appears as two different payment options.
Regular payout
The regular payment is the simplest option when you’re not in a hurry to receive your money. The payment is made once the trade protection period has ended. On Skinsauna, this means an 8-day wait from the moment you accept the trade offer.
